Grove Brewing Company Launches Tailgate Lager and Tailgate Light With Kingsville’s Biggest Tailgate Party

Outdoor viewing experience, DJ Kirzy and a BBQ fiesta will kick off the Detroit Lions’ season opener on Sunday, September 13


KINGSVILLE, ON — September 8, 2026 — Grove Brewing Company is launching two new beers built for the moments that get good times started: Tailgate Lager and Tailgate Light. To introduce the new brand, the Grove is throwing Kingsville’s Biggest Tailgate Party on Sunday, September 13, before the Detroit Lions open their season against the New Orleans Saints. The tailgate begins at 10:00 a.m. at Grove Brewing Company, located at 86 Wigle Avenue, Unit 1, and continues until the game kicks off at 1:00 p.m. Enjoy free snacks courtesy of South Detroit Pizza and music from Kingsville’s own DJ Kirzy, who has opened for international headliners Steve Aoki and Tiësto. At kickoff, the Lions–Saints game will be shown across Grove Brewing Company’s new multi-screen outdoor tailgate experience, in addition to the 30+ screens indoors, where sound is optimized to create one of the best live sports-viewing experiences in Windsor-Essex. “Tailgating is a ritual that we all love at the Grove,” says Jeff Smith, owner of Grove Brewing Company. “It’s really about community. Great music. Great food. Great beer. And that feeling that the day could go anywhere.”


Meet Tailgate

Tailgate Lager is a crisp, dry and easy-drinking rice lager created for a cleaner finish, less sweetness and a lighter feel. At 5% alcohol, Tailgate Lager delivers the familiar refreshment of a classic North American lager with a distinct identity rooted in the pregame, whether it’s sports, live music, cottages, parking lots, backyard gatherings or nights out.

Tailgate Light offers the same clean, refreshing character in a lighter 4% beer.

The launch will also mark the public debut of Tailgate’s new TG logo and the beginning of its first major campaign: The Official Beer of Before. “Tailgate is bigger than football fans,” adds Smith. “It represents the importance of kicking things off the right way. Like we say, it’s a beer you can start with and a beer you can stick with, no matter wherever the day or night takes you.”

The September 13 launch celebration will bring the complete game-day experience to Grove Brewing Company:

      • The public debut of the new Tailgate brand and TG logo

The event will also begin a new season of sports at Grove Brewing Company. Guests can count on the Grove to show every Detroit Lions game, alongside a full schedule of NFL, NHL and other major sporting events throughout the fall.

The Grove will also launch Ultimate Superfan this fall. Players will compete in a unique sports trivia contest to determine who is the Ultimate Sports Fan in Windsor-Essex. Along with bragging rights, the winner will be awarded beer for a year.
